The Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC)

The Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) is now continuously receiving cash and in-kind donations from good-hearted Filipinos and socially-responsible corporations and organizations to help families affected by tropical storm “Ondoy”, the PNRC Operation Center reported.

Today, PNRC received 1,500 loaves of bread from Gardenia Bakeries Incorporated while 1000 packs of cooked pancit were donated by Barbaras catering. These food items will be distributed immediately to the evacuation centers in Metro Manila.

Others also donated sardines, noodles, biscuits, bottles of mineral water and powdered milk. A large number of used clothes were also donated.

There were also corporations, organizations and individuals who gave monetary donations through bank deposits and walk-in cash donors.

Likewise, the PNRC availed 1,000 sacks of rice to the National Food Authority (NFA) to be distributed to affected families in evacuation centers.

Meanwhile, PNRC Chairman Senator Richard Gordon expressed his thanks to good-hearted Filipinos who gave cash and in-kind donations to help other people in distress.

“I am very elated that there are good–hearted Filipinos who are with the Red Cross during this crisis. We are hoping that more individuals will walk in the doorsteps of PNRC to lend their helping hands,” said Gordon.
