PROJECT BRIEF

I. PROJECT TITLE

'Magtulungan sa Buruwisan"

A Tree planting and clean-up drive to help restore and sustain the beauty and ecology of 'Buruwisan'.

II. DATE

AUGUST 29-30, 2009

III. PROJECT BACKGROUND

It started in Year 2003, when a group of mountaineers, climbers, outdoor enthusiasts and simple individuals conducted an annual clean-up and tree planting drive with a simple goal -- to preserve Buruwisan for the future generation.

The annual event has adopted several titles like "A Million Seedlings for a New Beginning", "Kinabukasan Ating Pangalagaan", "Sa Ilog Romelo I", "Sa Ilog Romelo II". Despite the annual activity, we were only able to make little impact on Buruwisan. With that, we acknowledge that we need to join hands to make a bigger reach and 'Magtulungan sa Buruwisan'' became the 2009 event title.

IV. OBJECTIVES

1. The project aims to restore and sustain the beauty and ecology of Buruwisan (Mt. Romelo).

2. To promote partnership among various mountaineering and environmental groups, companies, local government or agencies and the community in achieving one goal.
